Transformation Ghana Leadership Initiative Officially Launches

Dr. William A. Amponsah, Founder of the Transformation Ghana Leadership Initiative (TGLI) and Self Leadership Coaching International, has officially launched a nationwide, values-based leadership movement aimed at tackling one of Ghana’s most persistent challenges: not a shortage of resources, but a shortage of values.
Guests, champions, and partners gathered to hear the Initiative’s core message: Ghana is rich in gold, diamonds, bauxite, oil, gas, and lithium — yet remains relatively poor compared to nations with far fewer resources. As the Initiative puts it, “natural resources create opportunity, but values determine whether opportunity is leveraged to create prosperity or is stifled by systemic corruption.”

A Movement Built on Six Values
TGLI’s approach anchors on six Maxwell “Change Your World” values — Hope, Integrity, Forgiveness, Valuing Every Person, Listening, and Multiplication — delivered through community Values Roundtables led by trained facilitators. The Initiative’s near-term target is 35,000 active participants within two years, scaling toward 10% of Ghana’s population over time.
Early partnerships include the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for a business pilot, the National Youth Authority (NYA) for at-risk youth engagement, and pilot programs in Senior High Schools and universities to track ethical conduct and character outcomes before and after values facilitation.

“Ghana does not suffer from a resource shortage. Ghana suffers from a leadership and values deficiency,” the Initiative states. “When values rise, corruption falls, trust grows, investment increases, and prosperity follows.”
